The customers uses this format for the machines, that apply the graphics on the products. The EPS file format is a little bit old fashioned but commonly used in the “print sector”. These EPS files are used to print, engrave or emboss the given graphic on the configurable product. That could be a file with the logo of his company, an icon or other graphics. The user has the option to upload an EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) within the product configurator. But the base-paradigms described here can be used in other PHP based applications too because I’ve implemented them with vanilla PHP techniques. The whole implementation mentioned here was done for a Magento Online Shop. It has been done for a product configurator that had to be implemented. Save (Ctrl-S), select the Optimized SVG format and customize the setting or leave as is and click OK.Recently I had the job to convert EPS files to SVG graphics.Resize page to selection (Ctrl-Shift-R).I mean, I just copy-pasted the selection to a new document and went from there.
So we don't have it anymore, even if we had it for some small period of time as the above merge-request suggests. I suspect, recently, the author of the source code simply rewritten all functionality of the Inkscape Save Dialog and lazily forgot about the need to re-add and rethink the idea of Exporting selected objects to. Something went wrong, as these changes no longer are included in the latest master branch, therefore the latest Inkscape program. There was an effort to make Save as Copy dialog window to have Export selected objects only checkbox. I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me how to accomplish this.
I'm looking for a method for saving a selection into a different SVG file without saving the other objects. I also noticed it because the resulting file had the same size as the source file.
